The grounds of the Montgomery Title 1 offices and home to HIPPY served as the backdrop for the Montgomery first parent meeting of the school year. In the form of a Fall festival, HIPPY families from across the city, along with a myraid of HIPPY volunteers, gathered for an evening of fun, information and bonding. . . . Montgomery HIPPY designated September as Literacy Month at HIPPY. Site director Lillian Sanders passed out application for library cards during the weekly training. Home visitors distributed the form to their families and returned the application to the HIPPY office. Library cards will be distributed to HIPPY families. The goal is to have parents take their . . . Hello, HIPPY friends and supporters! Our first group meeting for our HIPPY parents and their children was last night at Grove Hill Elementary School. WOW! What a night! The meeting began with the parents and children enjoying their refreshments together. We had a total attendance of 136: • 40 HIPPY parents • 15 . . . Families met for games, playtime, and a cook-out. The children had a great time interacting with one another. This event provides an excellent opportunity for children who do not yet attend a daycare or preschool to play with other kids . . . Clay County held their annual graduation ceremony in May. There were so many participants! The parent turn out was wonderful! After the graduation ceremony, the staff had a cook-out for the children and their families. Staff from the Clay County HIPPY program visited the Ashland City Library for their weekly preschool summer reading program. The HIPPY staff led the program that day by reading HIPPY books and other library books to the children.
