HIPPY Graduation 2014

Montgomery HIPPY-Graduation night was a big success as parents and other family and friends gathered at Carver High School Auditorium. The HIPPY graduates marched in with caps and gowns to “Pomp & Circumstances.” Parents carrying balloon bouquets and beaming smiles with parental pride all over. It was priceless. The children performed the pledge, sang, danced and gave an outstanding performance. One parent stole the show as she ran down the aisle cheering when her child’s name was called.
Starr Plump, Education Specialist with MPS gave words of advice to the parents using the acronym ASK. She told parents that they should know what is going on in their children schools. They should ask questions of the children and their teachers.
54 diplomas were handed out to children in the four year old program, and 49 certificates of completions were given to the five year old participants along with miniature trophies.
8 High school seniors lead the HIPPY graduates processional. They had all been in HIPPY. Their earliest education experience began with HIPPY.
A reception was held after the ceremony.
